Property showings and how to make them a really welcoming and positive experience for the buyer…

When we put a house on the market and we have a lot of traffic back-to-back, we like to make sure that all the lights are on and it goes without saying that the house should be clean, staged windows washed… all of those things together. But lights all on… house looking good, no clutter, etc.

Don’t do things that are going to annoy the people coming into your house such as asking them to wear little booties – everyone owns a vacuum cleaner and you can vacuum after showings are over! Most of the people that are looking at the house will most likely know to wipe their feet before they come in. But you don’t want to stop them and say something negative – it sends a message that’s saying “we don’t really want you here, but we know you have to get in”.

The bottom line… property showings need to be a positive experience for potential buyers! You have to think through what will be the best experience for people coming to view your home.
